Apps for Parents

April 13, 2020

Here are some apps that might be helpful:

- Genius Scan: an app for your phone to help you scan documents to others via email.

- Abide: It is a Christian Meditation app to help you focus your mind on God's words and calm your body and thoughts down.

*one of my favorite things to listen to when I'm trying to sleep*

- Shape America: it gives exercise challenges to students to give their bodies in motion while being fun and interactive.

Have an app that you like? Please share it with me! I love to hear your feedback!

Scheduling During COVID-19

March 28, 2020

Parents and guardians, you are setting the bar high for us. You're balancing work, kids, your own personal life and NOW adding a teachers hat. With so much to do in a day, breaking it down into a schedule based off of 30 minute - 1 hour time slots will be helpful.

Here is an example of schedule from "rockitmama.com". Feel free to adjust times and activities.

Parents, don't forget to take care of yourself too

March, 26 2020

Parents are always giving: giving their love, their time, and their last bite of their food to their kids. Parents need TLC too. Here are some ideas to incorporate into your life to practice self-care:

  • Wake up 30 minutes earlier to have your coffee (or whatever your cup of heaven is) with some quietness and peace.

  • Shut off your phone 30 minutes before you go to bed and meditate.

  • Spa day when the kids are at school.

  • Join a reading club.

  • Go for a walk.
